Eat, laugh, live and love are the title of the book of Dametra. After all this is what dining is all about. Here in our little corner we thrive to bring the true feel of the Mediterranean food experience, people together, eating good food, drinking, conversing listening to music and sometimes dancing. Our Kitchen is really small but with a big heart. Our ingredients are fresh and bought locally but without a doubt the best ingredient of them all is love. We found ourselves in Carmel by the Sea one evening and we thought we’d struggle to find a reasonably priced restaurant with a table for 4. The Mediterranean Restaurant was busy but lucky for us they had a table. The food and experience was amazing. My partner and I shared the Dametra Pasta which was delicious and my son and girlfriend shared the Ravioli in a basil sauce which they loved. During our meal, musicians started to play and everyone in the restaurant was encouraged to get up and dance which they did. Touristy, for sure, but felt authentic because of the genuine warmth and friendliness of all the staff. An unexpected delight at the end of an amazing day.

Exceptional hospitality ~ staff are all welcoming ~ and live by the owners philosophy to treat customers like family. They made every effort to get us out of the cold. Make room for our daughters wheelchair. Bring us complementary hummus (we had no reservation)SO very kind. The music feels like a celebration of life ~ bringing people together ~ the food is delicious ~ now I understand why it is always so incredibly busy. Food for the body and soul ! Thank you for our special meal!

Excellent food! - great place to grab dinner after heading to the Carmel Beach to watch the sun set. Big portions, and great choice on the menu. Superb service, and was able I grab a table before a 5-10 minute wait. Staff are very welcoming, with the owner coming over to the table. The singing and dancing was an added bonus. Highly recommend!
